The Poised family

One family. One philosophy.

A small set of native Mac apps that share the same promise — buy once, own forever, your data stays yours. No subscriptions, no tracking, no surprises.

Why local-first

Own your tools. Own your data.

There's a reason local-first software has a cult following. You're in control — and every purchase supports an independent developer instead of a subscription machine.

Your data, your disk

Everything is written locally first. There's no cloud account in the loop unless you flip the switch — and even then, only what you choose to sync ever leaves your Mac.

Buy once, own forever

One payment. No monthly bill, no seat you have to keep renting, no feature locked behind a higher tier next quarter. It's a tool — you buy it, you keep it.

No tracking, no noise

No analytics, no telemetry, no account required to start, no AI helper popping up uninvited. The app does its one job and gets out of your way.

Software you own. Data you control.

Have agency over your money, your time, and your files. Buy once, work fast, save local.

Frequently asked questions

What is PoisedNotes, and how is it different?
PoisedNotes is a local-first, ultra-fast text editor: just text editing, no plugins, no markup, no bold or italics — just good old text. Because it's local first, you're in control. It won't pop up windows for autocompletion you didn't ask for. It's your text, your doc, focused on note-taking.
Is Poised software truly offline / local-first?
Yes. Every Poised app starts offline and stays offline. Data is written to your machine first. Going online is an explicit, optional action — and you can ignore it entirely and never miss a feature.
Is it suitable for team projects?
It can be. The Team licence covers up to 5 people, and the optional cloud upgrade adds on-demand sync and instant collaboration. But teams who just want to work locally and share files manually can do exactly that.
What are the collaboration options?
When you choose to go online, you get true on-demand sync plus instant collaboration with people you invite. It's opt-in per document — nothing syncs until you say so.
How are PDFs handled?
PDFs are generated client-side, on your local computer. We never store your PDF, and we have no knowledge of any PDF generation. Export it, email it, move it between devices — it's a native PoisedNotes function.
What are the licence options?
Three: a free Beta, an Individual licence, and a Team licence (up to 5 members). Either paid licence can take a one-time upgrade to add cloud storage and sync. All are buy-once, own-forever — no subscriptions.
